IV d.22 princ. 1 q.1] that it is not possible, because “nothing can return the same in number save by divine power; but sin cannot by the power of God return as to guilt the same in number, because, according to Augustine 83 Questions 83 q.3, ‘No one through God’s authorship becomes worse’.”
